Phillip Speranza, AIA

Philip is an architect, urban designer and Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture at the University of Oregon. His research explores the use of data acquisition to produce human-scaled analyses of social and natural phenomena including air quality, sound, light and temperature/humidity. Publications include the Journal of Urbanism, Journal of Urban Design, Architectural Design (AD) and received Best Paper Award for Environmental Design Research Association 2018. Philip holds degrees from Columbia University and University of Virginia and has worked with Steven Holl Architects in New York and Carlos Ferrater Arquitectes in Barcelona.

Stephen P. Maher

Project Architect
Registered Architect in Oregon | NCARB

Stephen is an architect and design technologist. He received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon and also studied at the Institute for Computational Design and Construction (ICD). While there, he contributed to the construction of the 2013/2014 Research Pavilion and played a key role in the design of the 2014 Leichtbau BW Installation. Prior to joining SA+UD, Stephen was the Studio Design Computation Leader at NBBJ’s Columbus, Ohio office where he lead the digital design effort. Stephen is a studio instructor at the University of Oregon and has been a guest critic and lecturer at the The Ohio State University.

Garrett Leaver

Designer

Garrett is an artist, designer, and architectural student who explores various media. His art includes large-scale murals. Garrett also has past experience in gaming design. At SA+UD, he is responsible for digital 3D modeling and rendering, leveraging technologies such as Virtual Reality. Garrett is a third-year Bachelor of Architecture student at the University of Oregon.
